A SAILBOARD MAY NOT BE USED ON THIS MEMBERSHIP
MEMBERSHIP CLASSES
FAMILY– Available to a member and a named adult partner of the opposite sex at the same address and includes children under 18 at the date of application.
SINGLE – This applies to persons aged 18 or over.
STUDENT – Persons aged between 18 and 23 who are in full time education with no income.
INSURANCE – All boat owning member MUST be covered by CURRENT MARINE third party liability insurance of at least £2,000,000 to indemnify themselves against any claims which may arise in the course of their sailing activities.
SAFETY RULES – All members are required to abide by the rules of the club and the Priorslee Lake Water Sports Association Ltd., and in particular the wearing of adequate personal buoyancy is obligatory for ALL CLASSES of users whilst on the water, or using the rescue boat, to RYA standard as stated in the RYA windsurf and buoyancy policy statement 27th February 1993. (A wet suit alone is not considered adequate.)
TSC STICKERS – All TSC members must display their stickers on their boat boards and cars. Failure to do so may result in you not being allowed to put your craft on the water and being asked to leave the lake.
KEYS – A key is required to gain entry. These must be obtained from the Mem Sec. at a cost of £15 when applying for membership. Keys remain the property of TSC. It is strictly prohibited to lend keys to none members and such misconduct gives the committee the right to withdraw membership.
IF AND WHEN YOU CEASE TO BE A MEMBER, IT MUST BE RETURNED WHERE UPON THE FEE WILL BE REIMBURSED ON RECEIPT OF THE KEY TO THE MEM. SEC. THE GATE MUST BE CLOSED AND LOCKED ON ENTRY AND DEPARTURE AT ALL TIMES.
DUTIES – All members will be required to carry out duties for the club throughout the year. A duty roster will be published and each member on that list will be expected to attend on that date or make alternative arrangements if that date is inconvenient. The duties could amount to more than one per year and consists of OOD or rescue boat.
NOTES – All craft brought to the site MUST be sprayed with disinfectant spray, which is kept in the clubhouse. Members selling their craft must inform the MEM.SEC. To enable records to be kept up to date and if purchasing another, keep in mind the preferred classes i.e.:
Mirror, Miracle, Solo, Topper, Laser, Enterprise, and GP14.
Others will be at the discretion of the committee. Maximum boat length is 14ft. CANOES are not allowed. Newly acquired boats MUST BE REGISTERED with the club BEFORE SAILING on the lake and putting in the compound, and relevant details of sail number and insurance sent to the MEM. SEC.
ONLY BOATS/BOARDS REGISTERED WITH THE CLUB ARE ALLOWED ON THE LAKE.
Visitors are not allowed to bring their own craft.
No craft may use the lake during the first race or when an open meeting is taking place unless participating.
Please provide the MEM. SEC. of any change of address to help keep records up to date.
A members and visitors book is kept in the clubhouse which we ask all members to fill in to enable us to monitor the usage of the lake especially on weekdays, but all visitors MUST be signed in before sailing.
Applications to the committee for boats, which are not club preferred, must be submitted to the MEM.SEC. for acceptance or refusal by the committee.
COMPOUND – Application to the MEM. SEC. for a berth is required. These are £19 per year when available. A waiting list is kept and any vacancies are re-allocated to that list.
All boats berthed are expected to be used regularly as it cannot be used for convenient storage.
