Telford Sailing Club was formed in 1975 and is located at Priorslee Lake on the north east edge of Telford in Shropshire. It has good access from main roads and motorways and there are local buses and a train station 15 minutes walk away.
The lake has a sandy bottom and there is a dam on the eastern edge, but the other shores are all soft. The lake is no more than 4.5 meters deep and boats can be launched from the concrete slipway or straight off the grassy shore on the south side of the lake.
Telford Sailing Club has access to the lake on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and most Sundays throughout the year. Racing is mostly on Sundays and an occasional Saturday. There are club visits to Himley, Bala, Carsington and Clywedog at various times and events at Telford where other clubs are invited to attend.
Cruising sailors may use the lake when the races are over though they may need to keep clear of the model boats.
The clubhouse has changing rooms, toilets and a kitchen. There is also a secure, locked dinghy park and parking for members’ cars.
